Poetry Out Loud Overview

Poetry Out Loud is an annual competition sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation.
Each year students are given the opportunity to memorize a poem of their choice and participate in our school competition. Winners go on to the county level representing IHS (LUHSD). The overall national winner receives a $20,000 scholarship.
 
FUN FACT:  In 2018, for the first time in school history, our very own student, Gwen Stevens won the Contra Costa County finals and advanced to the State Finals in Sacramento, CA.
